2. Place it on a heat-safe surface.
3. Choose a still spot. Light the candle in a non-windy area to avoid soot marks on the brass.
4. Keep the wax pool clean. Don't let wick trimmings, dust or debris collect in it.
5. Let it cool before you touch it. The candle can get hot while burning, so handle it with care and allow it to cool for a while after you put it out.
6. Use the lid as a coaster. The brass lid can sit under your candle to protect the surface it rests on.
